Brief: Tree of Life, the UK’s largest organic wholesaler, approached us with the idea of creating their very own brand of raw cacao chocolate. Forming a new premium range under the existing Tree of Life brand, the chocolate was to be garnished with seven delicious, organic toppings.
Solution: To create a premium, eye catching range of packaging designs for the chocolate range. The natural pattern was to reflect the organic origins, whilst the detailed inner story and illustrations brought the products to life.
Tree of Life, the UK’s largest organic wholesaler, approached the Masters of Brands with the idea of creating their very own brand of raw cacao chocolate.
Sitting under the existing Tree of Life brand, the chocolate was to be garnished with seven delicious, organic toppings for a luxury chocolate experience.
But, as important from our point of view, this was about distinguishing a new feel for the packaging – away from their existing palette of cream, green and brown.
We decided that this luxury chocolate experience needed simple but effective, stand-out packaging. So we choose a hero colour for each of the flavours, and created an ‘organic’ design to emphasise the naturalness of each product.
Using a sharp, serif, high-end font with thick edges and thin lines, our designers ensured the premium nature of the chocolate rang true. Even more so when complemented with the packaging story – summarised in the “From bean to bar.” line printed on the front.
And on the inside, we designed the cardboard so consumers could read about the production and farming of the cocoa itself.
All in all, this is simple packaging done right. A natural look, with a premium feel, that perfectly matches the food inside.
This is organic, vegan, gluten and dairy free chocolate. Our packaging highlights every cue, and helps make it one of the most desired in the natural market today.
